Esher Surveyors is a RICS-regulated surveying practice providing residential property surveys, valuations, and party wall services across Esher, Surrey, and the surrounding area. We are regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

3. Professional Services Terms
When you instruct Esher Surveyors to carry out a survey, valuation, or party wall service, the following terms apply in addition to these website terms:
3.1 Instruction and Agreement
A contract for services is formed when we confirm your instruction in writing and you confirm acceptance of our fee and terms. All survey instructions are subject to our standard Terms of Engagement, provided at the time of quotation.
3.2 RICS Standards
All surveys and valuations are carried out in accordance with the relevant RICS guidance notes and professional standards current at the time of instruction. Our Level 2 and Level 3 surveys comply with the RICS Home Survey Standard (2021). Valuations comply with RICS Valuation – Global Standards (Red Book, 2022).
3.3 Scope of Inspection
Our surveys are visual inspections of accessible areas only. We do not carry out intrusive investigations, move furniture, lift floor coverings, or open up fabric of the building unless specifically agreed. The scope of each survey type is set out in the relevant RICS guidance and our Terms of Engagement.
3.4 Reliance on Reports
Our survey and valuation reports are prepared for the named client only and for the specific purpose stated in the report. They must not be relied upon by third parties without our express written consent. We accept no liability to third parties who may obtain a copy of or rely upon our reports.
3.5 Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any survey or valuation is limited to the fee paid for that service unless otherwise agreed in writing. We maintain professional indemnity insurance as required by RICS regulations. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
3.6 Payment
Fees are due on delivery of the report unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to withhold the survey report until payment is received. We accept payment by bank transfer and major credit/debit cards.
3.7 Cancellation
You may cancel an instruction before the survey has been carried out. Where cancellation occurs less than 48 hours before the scheduled inspection, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the agreed fee may apply. Where the inspection has already been carried out, the full fee is payable.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on this website – including text, images, graphics, logos, and survey report formats – is the intellectual property of Esher Surveyors or our content suppliers and is protected by UK copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.
